This website
My personal site, moved off Squarespace and rebuilt as a Next.js app on the same domain, in four languages.
Next.js · TypeScript · Payload CMS · Postgres · next-intl · Tailwind CSS · Vercel

Problem
My first site, built on Squarespace, got me online quickly. As the work grew to drawings, photos, videos, writing and apps, I wanted one place that could hold all of it in the four languages I use, and that I could update from my phone.
Solution
A Next.js app with Payload as the CMS and Postgres underneath, deployed on Vercel. I write on my phone in whichever language comes first, and a page I have not translated yet is translated the first time someone reads it in their language. Pages are prepared ahead of time and refresh when I publish, so the site stays quick.

The first version of this site was built on Squarespace, and it was a good way to get started. This version is built from scratch so it can grow with what I make.
It is written in TypeScript with Next.js and React Server Components, and styled with Tailwind CSS. Posts, diary entries, art, photos, videos and projects live in Payload CMS, so I can publish any of them from my phone. next-intl serves every page in English, Japanese, Turkish and Korean.
Since it went live it has grown a Diary, each day printed as a Japanese train ticket, a blog set out like a station departure board, a sketchbook, a Now page and a contact form shaped like a postcard.
It runs on Vercel and kept its address, muratodesu.com. The motion is drawn to read like a comic, and it stays still for anyone who has asked their device for less of it.
